What We Do With Your Junk?
Usable furniture and household goods go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 31 Meadow Road in Asheville before anything reaches a landfill. Electronics are routed to certified facilities under NC General Statutes 130A-309.130 through 130A-309.142, which prohibit televisions and computers from landfill disposal. Metal, appliances, and recyclable materials go to certified recycling facilities in Buncombe County. What genuinely cannot be donated or recycled goes to the Buncombe County Landfill at 85 Panther Branch Road in Alexander, hauled under the county’s covered-load ordinance that has been in place since July 2023.
